CAMLA's BC Expo 2025 fast approaching

The Canadian Alternative Mortgage Lenders Association (CAMLA) will host its BC Expo 2025 on Tuesday, September 16, at the Vancouver Convention Centre’s East Building. The event is expected to draw more than 400 mortgage brokers, lenders, and industry professionals.

Running from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, the expo will include continuing education sessions, a trade show featuring over 40 exhibitors, and networking opportunities for alternative lending professionals across Western Canada.

“CAMLA is proud to present this year’s BC Expo, which reflects our continued commitment to regional representation and member engagement,” said Steve Ponte, a director of CAMLA and co-chair of CAMLA’s Western Canada committee. “The Expo is a unique opportunity to hear directly from thought leaders, build stronger broker-lender relationships, and elevate the professional standards of our industry.”

Speakers will include Greg Domville, vice-president of Dominion Lending Centre Inc., who will serve as master of ceremonies, and Ben Rabidoux, founder of North Cove Advisors and Edge Realty Analytics, who will address housing and macroeconomic trends.

Tyler Smith, a Humboldt Broncos crash survivor, Amazing Race Canada winner and mental health advocate, will deliver a keynote titled From Stress to Strength: Redefining Leadership Through Mental Health & Unity. Eric Poblette, national director of solutions for mortgage and housing at Equifax Canada, will provide insights on credit, compliance, fraud and market trends.

The expo will offer three continuing education units toward Mortgage Professional Canada requirements. Attendees will also have access to exhibitors showcasing tools, technology, and solutions relevant to the sector.

“The CAMLA BC Expo 2025 is more than just a regional event,” Ponte said. “It is a national touchpoint for brokers and lenders navigating the complexities of alternative lending in today’s economic environment. Our goal is to deliver a program that is timely, tactical, and grounded in the realities brokers face every day.”

General admission tickets are $75 and include access to all sessions, the trade show, catered breakfast and lunch, and continuing education credits. Fees are non-refundable but transferable until September 1 by written request.

The Vancouver Convention Centre is located at 1055 Canada Place. Discounted accommodation rates of $399 per night have been secured at the Pan Pacific Vancouver, with limited availability.
