Centuria Bass names Jaggar head of lending risk

Non-bank lender Centuria Bass Credit has appointed legal and risk professional Luke Jaggar (pictured) as its new head of lending risk.

Based in Sydney, Jaggar brings over 25 years of experience in legal, risk, and transaction management across global financial markets. His background includes roles at UBS, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Nomura International, and international law firms Shearman & Sterling and Clifford Chance.

In his new role, Jaggar will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s lending activities from a legal and regulatory risk perspective. He will report to joint chief executives Giles Borten and Nick Goh.

“Luke will work closely with our origination, distribution, compliance and finance teams throughout the lifecycle of each transaction,” Borten said. “His experience and reputation as a leader of lending risk and regulatory requirements across global markets is second to none. We are proud to welcome him to the Centuria Bass fold.”

Jaggar holds a bachelor of economics (social sciences) and a bachelor of laws from the University of Sydney. He is an admitted solicitor in New South Wales, Queensland, and England and Wales. He previously served as governor of the Central Foundation Girls’ School in London.

Jaggar’s appointment follows a series of additions at Centuria Bass this year, including David Stone as managing director of origination in April and former Wallabies vice-captain David Giffin as deputy CEO and co-head of lending in January.

Centuria Bass, established in 2016, reported $2.3 billion in assets under management as of December 2024, marking a 21% increase over the prior six months. The firm specialises in secured private credit loans for wholesale investors.
