ING Australia appoints Davies head of retail

Non-major bank ING Australia has named Jennifer Davies (pictured above) as its new head of retail, with her appointment to take effect on May 1.

Davies brings more than two decades of experience in financial services and consulting. She has held senior positions in both sectors, with a focus on enhancing customer experience, increasing market share, and managing risk.

She joins ING from National Australia Bank (NAB), where she served in several executive roles, most recently as executive general manager for Business Everyday Banking. Before her time in the banking sector, Davies was a partner at McKinsey & Company, where she led transformation initiatives across consumer and business-focused organisations. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and is a member of Chief Executive Women.

“We’re delighted to welcome Jennifer to ING,” said Melanie Evans, chief executive officer of ING Australia. “She brings a wealth of experience across a broad range of industries and a proven track record as a customer-focused leader.

“This is an exciting time for us as we continue to grow at pace and scale our impact. Jen’s commitment to innovation, strategic thinking and record of delivering outstanding results make her the right person to lead our retail business into the future.”

Commenting on her appointment, Davies said she was pleased to join an organisation known for its digital banking reputation.

“Additionally, ING is a brand that people truly love – the energy, ambition and commitment to putting customers first is something I’ve admired from the outside for a long time,” she said. “I’m excited to help shape the next chapter of retail banking here – one that continues to challenge the status quo, deliver innovative experiences and make banking better for more people every day.”
