Connective targets less admin for brokers

Platform updates for 2026 to focus on automation and data capture

Connective targets less admin for brokers

Mortgage aggregator Connective has set out its product roadmap for the rest of 2026 for Mercury Nexus, outlining a program of updates aimed at reducing administration for mortgage brokers and keeping more activity within a single platform.

Connective said recent changes were designed to reduce repetitive tasks, lift data accuracy and streamline workflow across the client lifecycle. It cited early usage of its Client Portal, saying more than 1,400 brokerages had adopted it, with more than 3,500 brokers using the service.

More than 27,000 client requests have been sent through the portal, with a 59.8% completion rate in March, up from earlier results that it said had ranged from 15% to 40%. Connective estimated the portal could save brokers up to one hour of administration time per deal.

The aggregator also pointed to take-up of its rate review feature, saying more than 60% of opportunities in Mercury Nexus have had a rate review completed since late November, with reviews captured and tracked within each opportunity. The firm said open banking had reduced income and expense verification from an average of two hours to around 10 to 15 minutes.

The next stage of development is set to focus on workflow automation, client follow-ups, scheduling support, proactive alerts and a broader view of client relationships inside the platform.

A central theme is reducing repeated data entry through an “enter once, use everywhere” model, where information collected through meetings, documents or client inputs can flow through the system. Connective said this would include voice capture, AI-assisted notes and document processing, with brokers retaining control over final decisions.

“Brokers do not need more disconnected tools or more noise layered over the top of their business,” said Chin Hui Yeo (pictured top), chief technology officer at Connective. “They need the primary platform at the centre of their workflow to do more, connect more and remove more of the repetitive work that slows them down.

“That is where Mercury Nexus is headed. We are building towards a platform that supports brokers even more meaningfully from one stage of the client journey to the next, with automation and AI applied where they genuinely improve workflow, reduce friction and help brokers stay focused on relationships and value creation.”
