Motivated by a desire to simplify that experience and become a trusted advocate for clients, Ng went on to launch Zenith Home Loans in 2022 – a brokerage built on the principle of long-term partnership, not just loan processing.

How and when did you become a mortgage broker?

I became a mortgage broker in 2019 after working as a banker and seeing firsthand how overwhelming the whole home loan process can be for everyday Australians. I was drawn to broking because it allowed me to make a real impact by simplifying the process, advocating for clients, and helping them make informed decisions.

That drive to do more, combined with a vision for a brokerage that puts the client experience above everything, led me to found Zenith Home Loans in 2022. I wanted to build a business that not only processed loans but also genuinely partnered with clients for the long haul. From day one, our mission has been to deliver a world-class client experience every single time, and that focus has helped us grow almost entirely through word of mouth and referrals.

Over the years, I’ve helped thousands of clients from all walks of life, from first-home buyers to seasoned investors, and Zenith continues to grow as a result of delivering exceptional outcomes and service. We position ourselves as each client’s dedicated home loan partner – not just for one transaction but for every property goal, financial milestone, and life stage ahead.

In your opinion, what has been the most positive development in broking?

The shift toward personalised, advice-driven service is the most positive change I’ve seen. Clients don’t just want someone to find them a loan. They want a trusted partner who understands their goals and can guide them through the entire journey. With the right technology, we can now offer speed and convenience without compromising on care or attention. At Zenith, we use every tool available to elevate the client experience, ensuring it’s seamless, strategic, and always centred on long-term value.

What challenges do you see currently facing the industry, and what solutions would you propose?

With so much noise in the market, one of the biggest challenges is helping clients see the difference between a transactional broker and a true lending partner. Many borrowers still feel underserved. They are often rushed through the process with minimal education or follow-up. The solution lies in raising the standard of care. We need to train and empower brokers to provide deeper support and build lifelong relationships. At Zenith, we don’t just write loans  – we stay in our clients’ corner as their dedicated home loan partner, proactively managing their lending over time to ensure it always fits their evolving needs.

Can you share a memorable or challenging experience from your career as a broker and the lessons you gained from it?

There was a family we helped who were juggling multiple home loans, refinancing under time pressure, and feeling overwhelmed by the complexity. They needed more than a broker –  they needed a dedicated partner who could take the stress off their shoulders and bring clarity to the chaos. We stepped in, mapped everything out, coordinated with their accountant, and executed a tailored strategy that saved them thousands. That experience reminded me that real value isn’t just in securing a loan. It's in being the calm, confident guide clients can rely on when everything feels uncertain.

Could you share any valuable advice for individuals aspiring to become brokers or those new to broking?

Don’t just aim to be a broker. Aim to be your client’s trusted expert and partner. Learn how to listen, educate, and lead your clients through the process with clarity and confidence. Build your business around trust, not transactions. If you show up consistently, deliver an exceptional experience, and keep your client’s long-term goals at heart, the referrals will come. Our entire business was built on word of mouth, and that only happens when you go beyond expectations and become someone your clients genuinely value and rely on.
