Broker summit heads to Vietnam for 2025 edition

Australian mortgage brokers will again have the opportunity to combine professional development with leisure, as The Successful Adviser announces the return of its Broker Summit, to be held in Da Nang, Vietnam, in July.

The event, hosted by broker strategist James McCracken (pictured below), follows last year’s inaugural retreat in Hua Hin, Thailand. Designed to support brokers in business growth while offering downtime, the summit blends structured networking and strategy sessions with rounds of golf at some of Vietnam’s top-ranked courses, including Legend Norman, Ba Na Hills, and Hoiana Shores.

Brokers attending the 2025 summit will stay in a beachfront luxury resort in Da Nang, a city known for its family-friendly environment and scenic coastline.

The event aims to offer brokers the chance to step back from daily pressures, with a focus on connecting with peers and exchanging ideas on business models, client service, staffing, and technology.

McCracken said feedback from the first summit had been overwhelmingly positive. “The Thailand attendees had an outstanding time and most had already verbally committed to the 2025 event before we had even confirmed a destination, such was their intent to have another great experience.”

“It was great to meet other brokers across different aggregation groups and discuss business,” one of the participants in the 2024 summit held in Thailand said. “Everything about their size, structure, annual volumes, processes, software, support staff, lender experiences and their roles. It was all very insightful.”

“It was great to play some of Thailand’s best golf courses and meet a diverse range of brokers with different business models and experience and get different views on how they approach client acquisition, retention, staffing, and technology,” another broker said.

The Da Nang broker summit will feature facilitated discussions and peer-to-peer learning, aimed at helping brokers refine their strategies and strengthen their practices. Attendance is open to brokers from all aggregation groups, though spaces are limited.

“As most inaugural members rebooked for Da Nang, along with some early birds, we now only have limited spots remaining for the 2025 event,” said the Melbourne-based McCracken, who has spent over a decade coaching brokers through The Successful Adviser.

McCracken’s firm supports brokers with annual settlements ranging from $20 million to over $1 billion, offering tailored guidance depending on the growth stage of the business. The Successful Adviser team now includes multiple coaches and provides support to brokers pursuing business growth, succession planning or improved work-life balance.

“Whether they come to us writing $20 million, $200 million or more, and whether they are looking to grow, get off the tools or setup a succession plan, they can expect structured guidance from our coaches and community of like-minded brokers to help each member achieve what’s ultimately most important to them,” McCracken said.
