P&N Group names new chief risk officer

P&N Group, which operates P&N Bank in Western Australia and BCU Bank in New South Wales and south‑east Queensland, has appointed Eimear Fanning (pictured top) as chief risk officer, effective from January 30.

Fanning joins the banking group at what it describes as an important stage in its strategic program. “I’m excited to lead a highly capable risk team and to contribute to the group’s next phase of growth,” she said.

Before joining P&N Group, Fanning built a career spanning risk, assurance and project delivery roles across financial services and related sectors in Australia, Europe and Africa. Most recently, she served as general manager assurance at HBF Health in Perth, overseeing assurance activities within a major Australian health insurer. Prior to that, she was a director in Deloitte Australia’s risk advisory practice in the Greater Perth area, advising large organisations on risk management, controls and regulatory expectations.

Earlier in her career, Fanning held a series of assurance and project roles with a strong financial services focus. She worked as a manager in business and controls assurance at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Perth and as a project manager at Bank of Scotland (Ireland) in Dublin. She also gained international experience as a project manager with Traidlinks in Kampala, and began her career in business analyst and marketing positions at Accenture in Dublin and Grupo Planeta in Barcelona.

Andrew Hadley (pictured right), chief executive of P&N Group, said the appointment would add a new dimension to the organisation’s executive leadership and risk function. “Eimear is a proven risk management executive, with a 20-year track record of uplifting maturity across large, complex, global enterprises and highly regulated sectors in health insurance, finance, government, aged care and energy,” Hadley said.

“She has significant transformation experience, embedding innovative practices to enhance decision making and support strategic goals, is an experienced leader of large teams and a trusted advisor to Boards, executive, and regulators.

P&N Group operates a customer‑owned model in which profits are directed back into the business for the benefit of members of P&N Bank and BCU Bank. Both P&N Bank and BCU Bank are active in retail banking and mortgage lending.
