A top commercial broker’s next move in AI lending
Pancake Loan marks Reginsun Credit’s move into AI-driven commercial broking. Built on five decades of combined industry experience and designed for both clients and brokers, it delivers real-time serviceability estimates and loan structuring pathways through a single, integrated system. Users can customise how loans are “stacked” or “pancaked” to suit their needs.
Director Jeff Pang says, “With Pancake Loan, we can show clients and prospects their potential borrowing power right away because we know that’s the first thing everyone wants to know before taking the next step.”
Ranked #31 among MPA’s Top Commercial Brokers 2026, Pang brings more than two decades of experience across commercial banking and broking, including senior leadership roles and the founding of Reginsun in 2014. He takes a hands-on approach to managing lender and client relationships while coordinating key stakeholders to drive successful outcomes. His track record has been consistently recognised, including being named one of MPA’s Top Commercial Brokers in 2022 (ranked #7) and again in 2024 (ranked #23), representing Reginsun Credit and Reginsun Group, respectively.
Over 12 years, Reginsun has settled more than $850 million in loans across more than 150 deals, working with over 40 clients in sectors ranging from agriculture and hospitality to development, manufacturing and logistics. The firm is known for complex transactions where structuring and lender alignment play a decisive role.
“Over the years, we have established ourselves as a trusted partner with all major banks and work with bankers to better understand the client's business,” he says. “This is the foundation on which we can manage the loan portfolio risk and maintain a quality loan book and relationship with lenders.”
Following that work with lenders, Pang began to see a consistent gap. While brokers and lenders work with detailed loan structures, clients often have limited visibility into how those structures are built or how different options affect outcomes. He identified that disconnect through years of managing complex funding arrangements.
Pancake Loan was developed in response to this disconnect. It allows users to assess borrowing capacity early and compare different structuring approaches before progressing a deal. It also generates qualified, ready-to-progress transactions, reducing time spent on each deal. Reginsun continues to concentrate on large, complex applications, while the platform supports a broader range of transactions of all sizes.
“We believe that clients and lenders benefit from transparency, timely loan servicing estimates based on accurate structures and prompt communication. These principles remain central to the quality of work we deliver,” he says.
Technology supports that model, but Pang does not position it as a substitute for broker judgement. It reduces time spent gathering information and streamlines communication, while experience continues to guide decision-making.
“We believe the future of broking will increasingly rely on technology to enhance the client experience. At the same time, human expertise will remain essential for building trust, nurturing relationships and providing personalised guidance on the platform,” he says.
That balance carries through the firm’s broader practice. Before any proposal reaches a lender, the team conducts detailed credit due diligence to identify the most suitable structure based on each client’s objectives. Work continues beyond settlement, with in-house management covering annual reviews and covenant reporting.
Early review of loan structures remains central to that process, helping secure the best possible offers on the market and avoid issues later in a project. Pancake Loan extends this approach by giving clients and brokers clearer visibility into funding decisions from the outset.
For Pang, the focus is not about replacing the broker’s role; it’s about making the process more transparent, responsive and built around how clients make decisions.
