Streamlined system aims to speed up assessments across the state
The Western Australian government has introduced a new digital platform for property valuations, replacing its previous system and aiming to improve efficiency in statutory rating and taxing processes.
Landgate, the state’s land information authority, has rolled out the VM Online platform, developed by Domain Group, following a contract awarded in 2023. The new system is designed to handle more than 1 million property valuations each year, supporting regulatory requirements across Western Australia.
According to Landgate, VM Online uses digital tools to streamline workflows and reduce processing times. The platform incorporates smart technology and data analysis to enhance the accuracy and delivery of various valuation types, while maintaining the independence of property assessments statewide.
“We’re proud to support Landgate in delivering property valuations that are not only fair and accurate, but also cost-effective and future-ready,” said Yunyeong Kim, managing director at Domain Insight. “This awarding reflects our ongoing commitment to innovation in both government and corporate property sectors.”
Mike Thanos, general manager at Insight Data Solutions, said the platform would provide Landgate with improved operational capabilities. “This new platform will enable Landgate to operate with greater precision, scalability and responsiveness. It’s a major step forward in strengthening valuation services across WA.”
Insight Data Solutions, a Domain Group subsidiary, delivered the platform in stages. VM Online is already operational in Victoria and South Australia, supporting more than half of all statutory valuations in Australia and serving over 375 valuers along with numerous government teams.
