Deal includes support for women's, community, and inclusion programs

Westpac has entered into a principal partnership with Cricket Australia, taking on a major sponsorship role for both the men’s and women’s national cricket teams.
The agreement, which began last month, will see Westpac’s branding featured on the playing shirts of Australia’s men’s and women’s teams for all home Test, One-Day and T20 matches, as well as for Australia A and under-19 squads. The bank will also serve as an official partner of the men’s and women’s Big Bash Leagues.
The partnership aims to support the development of cricket nationwide, with a focus on increasing opportunities for women, enhancing community programs, and promoting inclusion across the sport.
“We’re excited to step up to the crease and back Australian cricket,” said Anthony Miller, chief executive officer at Westpac. “Like Westpac, cricket in Australia has a long and proud history stretching back 200 years. As Australia’s oldest bank, we can’t wait to join forces with one of Australia’s oldest sports and help shape the future of this great game.
“Through this partnership, we’ll work with Cricket Australia to grow cricket at all levels, engaging players, fans and club communities around the country.
“As the first sponsor to feature simultaneously on both the men’s and women’s team shirts here at home, we look forward to investing in Australian cricket across all forms of the game, beginning with next month’s games against South Africa, followed by both India teams and this summer’s highly anticipated Ashes series.”
Cricket Australia chief executive Todd Greenberg welcomed the new partnership. “We’re thrilled to welcome Westpac as Cricket Australia’s new principal partner,” he said.
“This partnership represents a shared commitment to making a positive impact on the field and in the community. We aim to elevate the experience of fans and participants and together grow the game.
“Westpac’s support will directly contribute to initiatives that elevate participation and visibility in our sport and help support our vision of making cricket a sport for all. We couldn’t be more excited about the impact we can achieve together.”
Key elements of the partnership include Westpac’s role as presenting partner for the national community awards, which recognise contributions from volunteers and supporters across Australia. The bank will also support initiatives to increase women’s involvement in cricket, including programs for female coaches, managers, and executives.
In addition, Westpac will back inclusion-focused cricket teams and tournaments, such as the National Cricket Inclusion Championships and international disability series held in Australia. The agreement also covers support for First Nations talent, with Westpac becoming presenting partner of the National Indigenous Cricket Championships and Indigenous international matches.
