Aggregator unveils new training initiative to help brokers harness artificial intelligence

Mortgage Choice has announced the launch of the MC AI Academy, a new artificial intelligence education program and toolkit designed to strengthen the skills of its broker network.
The MC AI Academy offers a range of resources, including online courses, instructional materials, webinars, and face-to-face sessions. Its first module will focus on practical applications of Google Gemini, which was made available to Mortgage Choice brokers in April 2025.
The training, supported by REA Group, aims to help brokers use AI to improve efficiency, streamline operations, and enhance marketing activities.
“We developed our AI roadmap with brokers, for brokers because for us, implementing AI isn’t about rebuilding our entire business overnight,” said Nicole Devine (pictured right), executive general manager product at REA Group’s financial services business.
“It’s about recognising AI’s transformative power and empowering the 1,100 brokers in the Mortgage Choice network with the tools and know-how to increase efficiency and productivity – so they can spend more time delivering the incredible service our customers value.
“Using AI tools without proper training is like putting a learner driver behind the wheel of a race car. That’s why we’re so excited to launch our AI Academy, which will fast-track Mortgage Choice brokers’ AI capability and empower them to future-proof their businesses.”
Over the past year, Mortgage Choice has rolled out several AI-driven initiatives for its brokers. These include advanced reporting tools that use REA Group data and AI models to predict which clients are most likely to refinance, as well as an AI-powered search function in the broker Help Centre that summarises key business information. The company has also integrated NextGen’s Frollo Financial Passport and Quickli, both of which are designed to reduce manual data entry and support open banking.
“No matter whether our brokers are early adopters of cutting-edge tech, or more cautious, they know that their relationship with their customers is their greatest competitive advantage,” Devine said. “With this as our foundation, we asked ourselves, where can we help brokers integrate AI into their business thoughtfully, to amplify what they do best, and let AI automate the rest?
“As the broking industry’s adoption of AI gathers pace, aggregators will play an increasingly important role in guiding brokers on best practice, while providing ethical and operational frameworks that protect them, their businesses and most importantly, their customers. The MC AI Academy is key to achieving just that.”
