William Farrington

William Farrington is the editor of Mortgage Professional Australia, where he covers the people, trends, and decisions shaping one of the country's most dynamic industries. With a career spanning financial journalism on both sides of the world, William has reported on mortgage markets, banking policy, and economic shifts for trade publications and news desks across UK, and Australia.
He began his financial journalism career on the fast-paced London beat, working across multiple news desks and specialist trade titles, where he developed a deep fluency in credit markets and regulatory change. He returned to Australia in 2025 to lead MPA's editorial output, bringing with him a global perspective on the forces reshaping finance.
William holds a BA in Journalism and Media and a Master's in Creative and Critical Writing, both from Birkbeck University, UK — and once you get to know him, just call him Billy.
