Bendigo and Rabobank announce executive appointments

Bendigo Bank and Rabobank have announced new executive appointments with both institutions aiming to position themselves for future growth and transformation.

Bendigo Bank has appointed Kieran O’Meara (pictured above left) as chief technology officer, effective April 1. O’Meara, previously chief information officer and head of software engineering and IT at Telstra Group, brings expertise in digital transformation and technology delivery.

Commenting on his appointment, O’Meara said he was drawn to Bendigo Bank’s regional roots and its commitment to supporting customers and communities.

“I am looking forward to joining Australia’s most trusted bank and continuing the work that has been done to build capability and simplify the business,” he said.

The bank also announced the departure of chief transformation officer Ryan Brosnahan in mid-2025 after five years leading its transformation program.

Meanwhile, Rabobank has named David Barraclough (pictured above right) as group executive wholesale Australia and New Zealand. Barraclough, who has been with Rabobank’s wholesale division for more than 20 years, succeeds Lizette Sint, who is taking on a new role in the bank’s global wholesale banking business in the Netherlands.

Barraclough, who holds a degree in agricultural economics and has 30 years’ experience in agricultural banking, said he was proud to be leading the team going forward.

“The bank’s active involvement in supporting businesses along the full supply chain from farm to plate enables us to have unique insights and market knowledge,” he said. “Our wholesale banking business complements Rabobank’s broader service proposition for the agriculture sector.”
