Founder David Lyall takes on role of executive chairman
Millbrook Group has refreshed its leadership structure, elevating long-time executive George Lyall (pictured) to general manager, with founder David Lyall moving into the role of executive chairman.
As general manager, George Lyall now has responsibility for the overall performance of the business, spanning investment, lending and origination in Victoria. "Millbrook Group has built a strong platform and a highly capable team. I’m excited to step into the general manager role, leading both investment and lending operations while continuing to oversee origination in Victoria. I look forward to working closely with the team to deliver on our long-term objectives," he said.
George Lyall joined Millbrook Group in 2020 as head of origination, bringing experience in private debt funding, structured credit and portfolio management. His background includes time with a leading UK short-term capital provider, assessing and structuring bridging and asset-backed mortgage transactions, as well as prior roles with an Australian mortgage fund manager, where he built deep commercial credit expertise.
David Lyall's appointment to the executive chairman position will see him working closely with the executive leadership team to provide strategic oversight and support Millbrook in its next phase of growth. "This leadership structure supports the continued growth and maturity of the business. I look forward to supporting the executive team as executive chairman and contributing to Millbrook Group’s ongoing strategic direction," he said.
Commenting on the leadership changes, a Millbrook Group spokesperson said: “These appointments reflect a deliberate and considered approach to how we structure leadership at Millbrook Group.
"George’s appointment as general manager strengthens our operational capability across both investment and lending, while maintaining strong origination in Victoria.
"David’s transition to executive chairman reinforces governance and strategic oversight, positioning the group well for long-term, sustainable growth.”
