Tom Piotrowski leaves CommSec after 24 years
Tom Piotrowski, a well-known figure in Australian finance, will soon take up a new role at NAB, leading financial market commentary for NAB Private Wealth and nabtrade.
After more than two decades at CommSec, Piotrowski is set to begin his new position in early January, providing daily market insights for the bank’s high-value and broader customer base.
Piotrowski (pictured top), recognised for his distinctive presence and long-standing experience in market analysis, has built a reputation for making complex financial topics accessible to a wide audience.
“I’ve always believed finance doesn’t have to be boring, so I aim to make sense of the markets in a way that’s accessible for the seasoned investor, the first-time stock buyer and everyone in between trying to do better financially for their families and futures,” Piotrowski said on his appointment. “I’m delighted to be joining a bank and team that is so focussed on customers and delivering the service, products and insights to support their financial needs.”
NAB Private Wealth executive Michael Saadie highlighted the significance of Piotrowski’s appointment, noting his credibility and connection with clients. He believes Piotrowski’s expertise will strengthen the bank’s commitment to providing timely and actionable market insights.
Alongside Piotrowski, Nik Kritikos will also join NAB Private Wealth. Kritikos, who has three decades of experience in banking both in Australia and internationally, will oversee a team of relationship managers dedicated to delivering equity market solutions for nabtrade’s top clients. Saadie said Kritikos’s understanding of client needs and market dynamics would be key in supporting high-net-worth and private banking clients.
“Nik will also leverage Tom’s daily insights and expertise to deliver a differential experience for our clients Together their appointments reflect our ongoing investment in nabtrade and our commitment to delivering the most comprehensive private wealth offer in the Australian market,” he said.
Both Piotrowski and Kritikos are set to commence their roles at NAB at the beginning of 2026.
