Smartmove expands leadership team

Mortgage broking firm Smartmove Professional Mortgage Advisors, part of Viridian Financial Group (VFGL), has announced four new leadership roles as it expands its national presence.

Cameron Wiles (pictured far left) has been appointed regional head of New South Wales, in addition to leading the Smartmove Academy. In this dual role, he will focus on broker development and training while overseeing strategic growth in the region. Earlier in his career, Wiles worked at Westpac as a banking service representative. He also served as an NSW Justice of the Peace.

Dean Herbert (pictured second from left) has taken on the role of regional head of Victoria and Tasmania, where he will continue his loan writing work while mentoring brokers in his assigned regions to drive better performance and client service.

Chris Hill (pictured second from right) has also been named regional head of Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia, bringing his lending expertise into a leadership role to support brokers across those regions. His focus will be on strengthening broker capabilities and ensuring they have the tools needed for growth. He previously worked for banking institutions, such as Westpac and BankSA.

Simon Orbell (pictured far right) has been appointed head of partnerships, responsible for driving business expansion by working closely with brokers to improve their client acquisition and referral strategies.

Darren Little, general manager of lending at VFGL, said the leadership changes reflect a deliberate effort to expand Smartmove’s broker network and enhance its national presence.

“These appointments represent a strategic investment in supporting our expanding broker network and growing national footprint,” he said. “By strengthening our leadership capability across key regions, we’re enhancing our ability to support our brokers.”
