Centuria Bass appoints new origination exec

Non-bank lender Centuria Bass Credit has named Nick Reardon (pictured top) as executive director of origination in its Melbourne office, strengthening its lending and origination capability in Victoria.

Reardon, who has more than 20 years’ experience in real estate lending, will be responsible for expanding the real estate funding provider’s loan book across the state. He will report to David Stone, managing director and co-head of lending.

Well known in the domestic lending market, Reardon brings an established network of mortgage brokers, developers and private borrowers. His background spans land acquisition, construction finance, mixed-use developments and industrial and commercial property lending, with senior roles at Woodbridge Capital, Payton Capital and Commonwealth Bank.

Earlier in his career, Reardon founded mortgage broking firm Freedom Finance Australia, building its loan book to $150 million before the business was fully acquired by a related parent company in 2020.

Reardon holds a master of business (banking and finance) and a bachelor of arts (police studies and politics), both from Monash University, as well as a diploma of finance and mortgage broking.

“We warmly welcome Nick to the Centuria Bass team and believe his extensive experience, networks and origination capability will be a credit to our business as we look to further expand our market share as the demand for mid-market real estate finance grows,” said David Giffin, chief executive officer at Centuria Bass Credit. “Centuria Bass’ assets under management have grown 11 times in the past five years, and we have a strong appetite to continue this growth trajectory.”

Centuria Bass Credit currently manages $2.3 billion in assets under management across a diversified portfolio of secured private credit investments.
