Record field of entries as five state events begin in late May
The Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) has announced the state finalists for its 2026 Excellence Awards, with winners from each jurisdiction to advance to the national program later this year.
The association said the 2026 awards attracted an all-time high number of submissions. The MFAA Excellence Awards are now in their 23rd year and span 26 categories covering brokers, support staff, brokerages, lenders and service providers.
State winners will be determined across five state-based events: South Australia and the Northern Territory; Victoria and Tasmania; Western Australia; Queensland; and New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. National finalists are due to be named in mid-May, with the National Excellence Awards scheduled for 22 July in Melbourne.
“MFAA State Excellence Awards finalists should be incredibly proud of their achievements,” said Anja Pannek (pictured right), chief executive of the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia. “They are leaders who go above and beyond to meet the needs of Australian borrowers.
“These awards recognise members who deliver exceptional outcomes for their clients and communities. Their professionalism and dedication continue to strengthen trust in the mortgage and finance broking industry.”
The MFAA said entries are assessed independently against criteria intended to measure performance and capability beyond settlement volumes. Lender awards are determined through member voting and independently verified and audited.
The state events will be held at Adelaide Oval on 28 May; the Ritz-Carlton Melbourne on 4 June; Crown Perth on 11 June; the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on 18 June; and Sofitel Sydney Wentworth on 25 June.
