MFAA opens nominations for 2026 excellence awards

Brokers invited to nominate peers and firms as 26-category awards program gets under way

MFAA opens nominations for 2026 excellence awards

The Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) has opened nominations for its 2026 Excellence Awards, calling on members to put forward peers and firms that demonstrate high professional standards across the mortgage and finance sector.

Now in their 23rd year, the awards are among the longest-running recognition programs for brokers in Australia and are positioned to spotlight conduct, client outcomes and contribution to the wider industry rather than pure transaction volume.

The program is open to MFAA members nationwide and covers 26 categories spanning individual brokers, brokerage businesses, support staff and lender awards. Nominations can be submitted by any party, but nominees must complete and lodge their own entries.

According to MFAA chief executive Anja Pannek (pictured top), the awards were designed to recognise the role of brokers in supporting borrowers and businesses across the country.

“Our members help thousands of Australians secure homes, grow businesses and make informed financial decisions,” Pannek said. “The Excellence Awards recognise the professionalism and commitment that underpin this work. Behind every finalist is a story of dedication and service.

“We encourage members to nominate individuals and businesses who reflect the values that define our industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to honour those who go above and beyond for their clients.”

Entries will be assessed against defined criteria intended to measure excellence and professionalism beyond settlement figures. Judging is conducted independently, and results are audited by Hall Chadwick to support consistency and transparency. Lender categories are determined by member voting, which is also independently verified.

Nominations are now open via the MFAA’s awards portal at this link. Further details on the 2026 awards and entry kits are available at this site. Submissions close and lender categories voting opens on Feb. 17. Voting closes on March 10.
