Specialist lender reduces interest rates for self-employed borrowers
Non-bank lender RedZed has announced a reduction in interest rates across its entire suite of lending products, implementing changes before the Reserve Bank of Australia announces its move on the cash rate next week.
The new rates, which take effect immediately, begin at 5.99% for the Prime Residential Full doc and Alt-doc products. Additionally, the lender has removed the 0.10% loading previously applied to SE Prime loans under $2 million.
The specialist lender said it has consistently aligned its rates with official Reserve Bank reductions throughout 2025. However, in response to persistent cost-of-living challenges and the specific needs of self-employed borrowers, the lender has opted to introduce these changes independently.
All four major banks anticipate that the Reserve Bank will maintain the cash rate at its September meeting, with a possible cut expected in November.
“Why wait for the RBA when the self-employed need support now?” said Calvin Cordle (pictured top), chief executive and managing director at RedZed. “We’ve always backed self-employed Australians, and right now, that means giving them access to better rates when they need it most. Self-employed Australians and small businesses are about to enter a busy period with Christmas and summer holidays on the horizon.
“As the Australian self-employed lending specialist, we’re listening to our broker network and borrowers, and what they need before the end of the year is a bit more relief when it comes to rates. We’ve got their back.”
The revised rates apply to new applications submitted from today until the end of October, providing brokers and their self-employed clients with an opportunity to access more competitive finance options.
