Winners across 20 categories advance to National Awards in July

VIC and TAS brokers recognised at MFAA Excellence Awards

Mortgage and finance professionals from Victoria and Tasmania came together at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne to mark industry achievements during the 2025 MFAA VIC/TAS Excellence Awards.

Hosted by the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA), the event highlighted performance across key areas such as business growth, client service, professionalism and community involvement. A total of 20 awards were presented to individuals and businesses spanning a variety of industry roles.

Among those recognised were Peter Georgas of Loan Market Group, who won the Aggregator Business Development Manager Award, and Avi Raju of Suncorp Bank, who received the Lender/Support Service Provider BDM Award.

  • Finance Broker Business: Trusted Financial Choice
  • Fintech Lender: ubank
  • Loan Administrator: Nick Birrell, 40 Forty Finance, and Sonal Rajani, Jabsons Finance
  • Major Lender: Macquarie Bank
  • Mutual/Credit Union Lender: Teachers Mutual Bank Limited
  • Newcomer: Prarthi Pandey, Park Finance and Consultancy
  • Non-Major Lender: Bankwest
  • Regional Finance Broker: David Fraser, Bayland Finance
  • Residential Finance Broker: Toby Edmunds, Loan Market Razor, and Will Unkles, 40 Forty Finance
  • Specialty Lender: Liberty Financial
  • Young Professional: Jordan Chantry, MVM Finance Group

“Our members in Victoria and Tasmania continue to demonstrate the best of what the mortgage and finance profession offers: trusted guidance, deep knowledge, and a genuine focus on helping Australians achieve their financial goals,” said MFAA chief executive Anja Pannek (pictured). “These awards are about honouring that commitment – and setting a benchmark for the future.”

The Melbourne event marked the fourth in a five-part state awards series. Previous ceremonies were held in Adelaide, Sydney, and Perth, with Brisbane’s event scheduled for June 29. Regional winners will go on to compete at the MFAA National Excellence Awards in Melbourne on July 23.
