Haven creates head of adviser growth role to turbocharge network

Haven Financial Advisers has unveiled a new senior role focused squarely on adviser performance and development.

The New Zealand‑based firm has appointed long‑time adviser and leader Sky Leigh (pictured) to the newly created position of head of adviser growth and success. The role is designed to centralise responsibility for adviser coaching, capability building, and performance across Haven’s insurance, KiwiSaver, and mortgage advice teams.

Managing director Craig Baldwin said Leigh’s appointment underlines Haven’s strategy of scaling its footprint while maintaining support for advisers on the ground.

“We are delighted to appoint Sky Leigh to this pivotal new role,” Baldwin said. “Sky's deep understanding of our business, her proven track record in adviser development, and her passion for fostering advisers make her the ideal leader to drive the growth and success of our adviser community.”

From adviser to national growth lead

Leigh has spent more than a decade with Haven, starting as a practising adviser before moving into an adviser manager role, where she led and mentored a team.

In the new position, she will oversee leadership accountability, upskilling, mentoring, and day‑to‑day support for adviser managers, team leaders and front‑line advisers.

Leigh said she wants to embed clearer growth pathways and more consistent support across the network.

“I am particularly looking forward to providing comprehensive opportunities for all our advisers to grow their skills, enhance their level of advice, and expand their client base,” she said.

Leigh added that by pairing individualised development plans with “a truly collaborative environment supported with innovative tech”, advisers can be better equipped to deliver outcomes for clients.

Focus on adviser development and client outcomes

Haven said Leigh’s promotion is part of its ongoing growth agenda and reinforces its emphasis on professional development as a point of difference in the advice market.

The move follows Haven’s recent promotion of long‑time executive Louise Gordon to general manager, tasked with steering Haven’s overall strategic direction and commercial performance while maintaining a strong focus on adviser support and client outcomes.

Haven positions itself as one of New Zealand’s top‑rated financial advice providers, with a nationwide adviser base supporting clients on insurance, retirement savings, and mortgage strategies.
