Lender voting underway for 2026 MFAA Excellence Awards

Mortgage brokers across Australia have begun voting in the lender categories of the 2026 MFAA Excellence Awards, placing recognition of major, non-major, mutual, specialty and fintech lenders directly in member hands.

Unlike the 21 other categories, which are assessed by an independent judging panel, the lender categories are determined solely by member ballot and then independently verified.

Voting opened on February 17 and will close on March 10. Participation is restricted to MFAA members, with each member entitled to cast one vote per lender category.

The five lender categories are: Major Lender, Non-Major Lender, Mutual or Credit Union, Specialty Lender, and Fintech Lender.

MFAA chief executive Anja Pannek (pictured) said the awards highlight lenders that actively support
brokers and deliver strong outcomes for customers.

“These awards are unique because they are informed directly by brokers and their interactions with lenders,” Pannek said.

“They recognise lenders that consistently demonstrate quality service, strong relationships and a commitment to collaborate with brokers to deliver better results for borrowers. Broker voting means these awards reflect what matters most: helping Australians achieve their financial goals.

“Our industry works well when brokers and lenders operate as trusted partners. The lender categories acknowledge those organisations that understand how brokers work and invest in the people, systems and processes that support outstanding customer experiences.”
