Finalists named across seven national categories in the lead-up to July awards night

The Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) has named the finalists in seven national categories for its 2025 Excellence Awards, recognising firms and individuals demonstrating significant leadership and professionalism across the mortgage and finance sector.
The awards spotlight achievements in areas such as mentoring, inclusion, aggregator performance, and professional development. All finalists were evaluated by an independent panel, with auditing by Hall Chadwick to ensure impartiality and transparency in the judging process.
In the Aggregator Award category, the shortlist includes AFG, Connective, Lendi Group, Liberty Financial, LMG, Mortgage Choice, Purple Circle Financial Services, and SFG.
The Diversity and Inclusion Award finalists are Brighten, Liberty, Money Merchants Financial Services, Mortgage Choice, Premium Select Finance, SFG, and Trusted Financial Choice.
Five professionals are up for Mentor of the Year: Demal George of Smartfinn Advisors, Debbie Hutchings of REFS Australia Group, Peter Mastroianni of Loans Only Pty Ltd, KD Singh from Money Merchants Financial Services, and Fabien Tribe from Broker Sidekick.
Organisations competing in the Mentor Program category are Liberty Financial, Mortgage Choice, Mr Mentor, Purple Circle Financial Services, and REFS Australia Group.
Shortlisted for the Mortgage Manager Award are Better Mortgage Management, FINSTREET, Mortgage Ezy, and Rate Money, while finalists for the Professional Development Award include AFG, Broker Essentials, Connective, LMG, Mr Mentor, and Smartmove.
In the Support Service Provider categories, large company finalists are ALI Group, Allianz, Helia, and Platform Finance. Among small companies, 99content, Biz Growth Project, Clear Credit Solutions, Credit Fix Solutions, Success & Broker, and VA Platinum are recognised.
“These national finalists are leaders in their field,” said MFAA chief executive Anja Pannek (pictured above). “Not only are they delivering outstanding outcomes for their clients and communities but they’re also lifting the bar for the entire industry.
“Whether it’s through mentoring new talent, driving diversity and inclusion, supporting brokers with quality learning, or innovating at an organisational level—these finalists exemplify the values of the MFAA and the future of broking in Australia.”
Winners will be revealed at the MFAA National Excellence Awards ceremony on July 23 at Crown Melbourne, following the association’s national conference earlier that day. The event will be hosted by Tim Campbell.
Finalists from the MFAA State Excellence Awards have also been released. State-level winners will advance to the national stage, competing in their respective categories.
The South Australia and Northern Territory event will be held on May 29 at Adelaide Oval. The New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory awards night is scheduled for June 5 at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth. Western Australia’s celebration will take place on June 12 at Crown Perth.
