Broker Action Coalition reveals new Board of Directors

The Broker Action Coalition (BAC) has announced changes to its Board of Directors and leadership councils. The updates reflect the organization’s continuing efforts to strengthen independent mortgage broker representation and ensure broad advocacy across the wholesale mortgage industry, a news release highlighted.

The BAC Board of Directors now includes 11 voting members. It is composed of four lenders, four brokers, and three members from BAC’s leadership team. The organization stated that this structure affirms its independence from any specific company and reinforces its commitment to the wholesale channel.

New lender joins board

Kim Nichols, chief TPO production officer at Pennymac TPO, has joined the BAC Board. She brings experience in wholesale lending, secondary marketing, capital markets, and mortgage insurance. Nichols has been credited with Pennymac’s rise as one of the country’s top wholesale lenders.

She will serve alongside fellow lender representatives Eddy Perez of Equity Prime Mortgage, Phil Shoemaker of The Loan Store, and Kevin Peranio of Paramount Residential Mortgage Group. The broker members include Elena Boland of Wholesale Mortgage Services, Joseph Dionne of appli Home Loans, Major Singleton of Edge Home Finance, and Daniel Iskander of West Capital Lending. The BAC’s leadership team is represented by Brendan McKay, chief advocacy officer; Rachel Clark, executive director; and Karis Koehn, partnerships director.

“All brokers deserve a voice in advocacy,” said McKay. “The BAC is pro-broker, pro-wholesale channel, and pro-consumer. We’ve carefully chosen leaders who share this commitment and are dedicated to ensuring brokers have a seat at the table where critical decisions are made.”

In addition to voting members, the BAC includes seven non-voting roles, such as board advisors and leadership council chairs. Former CEO and BAC co-founder Katie Sweeney has transitioned to a board advisor position. She also serves as executive vice president of strategy and broker advocacy at Rocket Pro. New board advisor Allen Middleman, executive director at Freedom Mortgage Wholesale, will join existing advisors Brian Vieaux of FinLocker and Sofia Rossato of Floify.

Leadership council appointments announced

Changes to the BAC’s leadership councils were also confirmed. Jay Rodriguez of Arbor Financial Group has been appointed chair of the Hispanic homeownership council. Jennifer Gormer of Integrity Home Lending will lead the Black homeownership council. Gay Veale of Epoch Lending continues as chair of the veteran homeownership leadership council, while Jerry Robinson of 1st Choice Mortgage Company remains chair of the government affairs leadership council.

“This blend of fresh perspective and continuity ensures a strong, consistent leadership team moving forward,” said Clark. “We are thrilled to see the continued contributions of our dedicated leaders. Their combined expertise will strengthen our mission to protect the wholesale channel and increase homeownership nationwide.”
