Why your investment in NAMBPAC is an investment in the future of mortgage brokerage
Every day, independent mortgage brokers across America help families achieve the dream of homeownership. You find the best rates. You navigate complex guidelines. You fight for your borrowers when no one else will. But as powerful as you are at the closing table, there is another table where your absence can cost your clients — and your career — everything. That table is in Washington, D.C.
NAMBPAC — the political action committee of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers — is your seat at that table. And right now, we need you in the room.
What is NAMBPAC and why does it matter?
NAMBPAC is the federally registered political action committee that allows NAMB members to pool resources and collectively support candidates for federal office who champion the interests of independent mortgage brokers and the borrowers they serve. In the world of federal policy, a PAC is not optional — it is essential. Without one, our voice is easily drowned out by the deep pockets of large banking institutions and corporate special interests.
NAMBPAC ensures that members of Congress know who we are, what we stand for, and why the independent mortgage broker channel is vital to a competitive and healthy housing market.
The stakes have never been higher
The mortgage industry is under constant legislative and regulatory scrutiny. From loan originator compensation rules to Qualified Mortgage standards, from LLPA pricing structures to FHA guideline changes — every policy decision made in Washington has a direct impact on your business and on your borrowers' ability to get a loan.
Consider what is already on the horizon. Congress continues to debate housing affordability legislation. Regulatory agencies are actively reviewing compensation structures that affect how brokers are paid. None of this happens without political engagement. And political engagement requires resources.
Simply put: when NAMB shows up in Washington, lawmakers listen.
Your donation is an act of professional advocacy
Some members hesitate to contribute to a PAC, viewing it as a political act. But supporting NAMBPAC is not about political parties — it is about protecting your profession. NAMBPAC supports candidates on both sides of the aisle who understand the role that independent mortgage brokers play in expanding access to homeownership, creating competition in the marketplace, and serving underserved communities.
When you contribute to NAMBPAC, you are not writing a check to a politician. You are investing in the infrastructure of advocacy that protects your license, your livelihood, and your clients.
Every dollar raised through NAMBPAC goes directly toward electing and re-electing legislators who will stand with independent mortgage brokers when the hard votes happen.
What NAMB has already fought for — and won
NAMB's advocacy record speaks for itself. The passage of legislation to ban predatory trigger leads — a practice that exposed borrowers to an avalanche of unsolicited solicitations the moment they applied for a home loan — is a direct result of years of sustained advocacy by NAMB and its members. We showed up, made the case, built the relationships, and delivered results for American homebuyers.
NAMB has submitted formal comment letters opposing harmful regulatory overreach, testified on behalf of broker channel interests, and built a sustained Lobby Day presence that puts mortgage professionals face-to-face with the legislators who write the rules governing our industry. We have advocated for housing affordability solutions, pushed back against fee structures that disadvantage independent brokers, and consistently championed the borrower's right to choose how they obtain a mortgage.
None of this is free. None of this happens without NAMBPAC.
Who can contribute — and how
NAMBPAC is a federally regulated political action committee. Contributions are voluntary and must come from individual NAMB members — not from corporate funds or business accounts. Contributions are not tax-deductible. Federal law limits individual contributions to $5,000 per calendar year.
No amount is too small to make a difference. Whether you contribute $25, $100, or the maximum — every gift strengthens our collective voice. We encourage every NAMB member to give at whatever level they are able, and we invite you to consider a recurring monthly contribution to help sustain our advocacy efforts year-round.
Together, we are stronger
The independent mortgage broker channel exists because the people in it never stop fighting — for their borrowers, for their businesses, and for the principle that every American deserves access to competitive mortgage options through a trusted professional who works for them, not for a bank.
NAMBPAC is how we take that fight to Washington. It is how we build relationships with the legislators who can protect our industry — or dismantle it.
Your voice on Capitol Hill
NAMBPAC is one of the most powerful tools we have to protect and advance the mortgage broker industry. The contributions made to NAMBPAC go directly toward supporting legislators who understand and champion the issues that matter most to you — from LO compensation reform and trigger lead protections to FHA MIP relief, loan level pricing adjustment reform, VA home loan improvements, and housing affordability. As your President, I am proud to say that NAMB has been walking the halls of Capitol Hill since 1973, sitting face-to-face with legislators, building relationships, and fighting for policies that make your business stronger and your clients better served. And because of that presence and persistence, we have secured meaningful legislative wins, including the recent trigger leads ban, while continuing to push forward on the issues that directly impact independent mortgage brokers every day.
The time to act is now
Legislators are making decisions right now that will shape the future of mortgage brokerage. Your contribution to NAMBPAC ensures that independent mortgage brokers and their borrowers are not left out of that conversation.
Make your contribution today. Because the future of this industry belongs to those who are willing to fight for it.
