Broking industry invited to honour leading professionals and businesses across Australia
The Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) has opened nominations for its 2026 Excellence Awards, calling on the industry to put forward brokers, firms and lenders demonstrating high professional standards.
Now in their 23rd year, the awards are one of the longest‑running recognition programs in the Australian mortgage and finance sector, with categories spanning individual brokers, brokerages, support roles and lenders.
The 2026 program includes 26 award categories. Nominations can be submitted by anyone, but nominees must later complete their own full submission when entries open on Jan. 5, 2026. Entry is free for MFAA members.
MFAA chief executive Anja Pannek (pictured right) said the awards shine a light on the contribution brokers make to borrowers and the wider economy.
“This sector plays a crucial role in supporting Australian borrowers,” Pannek said. “Our members help thousands of Australians secure homes, grow businesses and make informed financial decisions.
“The Excellence Awards recognise the professionalism and commitment that underpin this work. Behind every finalist is a story of dedication and service. We encourage members to nominate individuals and businesses who reflect the values that define our industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to honour those who go above and beyond for their clients.”
According to the MFAA, all submissions are assessed independently against defined criteria designed to measure excellence and professionalism beyond simple settlement volume. Lender awards are determined by member voting, with results also subject to independent verification.
Key dates for the 2026 MFAA Excellence Awards are as follows. Nominations opened and entry kits were released on Dec. 9. Awards submissions open on Jan. 5. Awards submissions close and lender categories voting opens on Feb. 17. Voting for lender categories then closes on March 10.
