Avanti targets broker market with new long‑term commercial loan

Specialist lender unveils 15‑year commercial property loan for businesses

Avanti targets broker market with new long‑term commercial loan

Avanti Finance has added a new long‑term commercial property loan to its product line‑up, aiming to give New Zealand businesses and investors more flexibility to fund growth and restructuring.

The specialist lender is positioning the product squarely through its adviser and introducer network, creating additional options for brokers working with commercial clients.

The loan is designed for both owner‑occupiers and investors and offers terms of up to 15 years, with amortisation out to 25 years to support longer‑horizon business strategies. Maximum loan sizes are set at $4 million in Auckland and $2 million in other main centres, with loan‑to‑value ratios of up to 70%, allowing clients to unlock equity or preserve working capital.

Initially released to Avanti’s introducer network in February, the product has already generated a strong pipeline of enquiries and applications. The lender is now rolling it out more broadly to brokers and advisers.

The launch comes as NZIER’s latest business survey shows confidence weakening and construction firms reporting a thinner pipeline, while annual CPI is stuck just above the RBNZ’s 1–3% target band.

Responding to demand for long‑term funding certainty

Ian Boyce (pictured), general manager property at Avanti Finance, said the move reflects a clear shift in what commercial clients are asking for.

“Advisers and brokers are seeing increased demand from clients for long‑term commercial property funding that supports stable, forward‑looking business decisions,” Boyce said.

“Our commercial property loan responds to that need, by giving clients the certainty and flexibility to invest, restructure and grow, while adapting to evolving market conditions,” Boyce added.

Broader suite and ‘partnership’ positioning for introducers

Boyce said the launch is also about strengthening Avanti’s value proposition to introducers.

“It also reflects our ongoing focus on equipping introducers with a broader range of solutions. By expanding our offering, we’re enabling our introducer partners to better meet diverse client needs, backed by a pragmatic credit approach and a strong partnership model,” he said.

The commercial property loan sits alongside Avanti’s existing range of long‑ and short‑term first mortgages, property development, and investment loans, as well as auto, personal, asset finance and working capital products – giving brokers more scope to structure end‑to‑end solutions for commercial borrowers.
