The NZ mortgage industry’s brightest stars were honoured across 21 categories
New Zealand’s leading mortgage professionals and organisations were celebrated last night at the 2026 New Zealand Mortgage Awards (NZMAs), held at Under The Dome at the Auckland War Memorial Museum.
Presented by NZ Adviser, with Liberty as event partner and Success & Adviser as premium partner, the gala recognised 21 winners across New Zealand’s advisers, brokerages, aggregators, lenders, and BDMs for excellence over the past 12 months.
Spotlight on top individual advisers
Liberty Adviser of the Year went to Cameron Muggeridge of Loan Market Central, who also claimed Pepper Money Adviser of the Year – Residential, topping a strong field of residential specialists and multiple excellence awardees.
Xceda Adviser of the Year – Regional was awarded to Jen Taylor of Taylored Mortgages, while Satyan Mehra of iConsult took out Avanti Finance Adviser of the Year – Specialist Lending.
In the commercial space, Matt Evans of Squirrel was named Commercial Mortgage Adviser of the Year.
Back‑office excellence was recognised with the CFML Loans Loan Administrator of the Year, awarded to Alejandro Wong of Mortgagehq.
The First Mortgage Trust New Adviser of the Year title went to Vijay Gounder of Loan Market Central, and industry stalwart Tony Mounce of Tony Mounce Mortgages received the Newpark Home Loans Lifetime Achievement award.
Across these adviser categories, a strong line-up of excellence awardees from firms including Alex Wang Consulting, Vega Mortgages, Zest Brokers, Squirrel Mortgages – South, Platinum Mortgages New Zealand, Loan Market Team Patten, Opes Mortgages, and many others were also recognised.
BDM and aggregator standouts
Supporting advisers behind the scenes, BDMs, and aggregators were also recognised for their frontline support of advisers and the broader network.
- Link Financial Group Best Bank BDM – Marcus Merrilees, Bank of New Zealand
- NZFSG Best Specialist Lender BDM – Harriet Wright, Avanti Finance
- Best Aggregator BDM – Charlotte Ireland, Mike Pero Mortgages
- Blossum Aggregator of the Year – Kiwi Adviser Network
Excellence awardees in these categories represented major banks and leading aggregators including Kiwibank, Westpac, Avanti Finance, Scotpac, Prospa NZ, Finsure New Zealand, NZFSG, Link Financial Group, and Mike Pero Mortgages.

Alongside individual achievements, brokerages of all sizes, from boutique offices to larger national operations, were honoured across multiple categories.
