Strong demand from UK and overseas landlords, along with forward-flow origination, drives growth
ColCap Financial UK, the parent company of specialist lender Molo, has passed £1 billion in assets under management (AUM) in its UK buy-to-let business, less than three years after entering the market in 2022.
The portfolio consists of Molo-originated buy-to-let loans alongside an expanding third-party forward-flow programme. The growth has been driven by demand from both domestic and overseas landlords, supported by a broker-focused distribution strategy.

The announcement follows the completion of ColCap UK’s second securitisation, Molossus BTL 2025-1, which has broadened and diversified the firm’s funding base. The latest transaction adds to its platform capacity for further specialist buy-to-let lending.
ColCap Financial, the Australian-headquartered non-bank lending group behind ColCap UK, has more than A$19 billion in AUM across Australia and the UK. The group incorporated its UK entities in 2022 and began UK mortgage lending in December that year. Last year, ColCap UK bought the remaining 20% stake in Molo Tech, making the digital mortgage lender a wholly owned subsidiary.
“Surpassing £1 billion in AUM is a defining moment for the business and demonstrates the strength of our model and the growing opportunity in the specialist buy-to-let market,” said Matt Kimber (pictured top), chief executive of ColCap UK and Molo. “We have clear plans in place to build on this momentum in 2026.”
“Reaching this milestone reflects the strength of our funding arrangements and our expanding forward-flow programme, giving us the capacity to scale efficiently and sustainably,” said Paolo Tanca, treasurer at ColCap UK.
