Together launches broker onboarding academy

Lender announces new training programme and broker webinar

Together launches broker onboarding academy

Aiming to provide additional training and support for mortgage broker partners, specialist property lender Together is set to open its broker onboarding academy on September 1.

The academy will provide training sessions for new brokers, focusing on effective case packaging and submission, and will contribute Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours towards brokers’ certifications.

In addition to the academy, Together will host an educational webinar for brokers on August 22. The session, led by Michelle Walsh, intermediary sales director for commercial finance, will address commercial and semi-commercial mortgages, portfolio diversification, and solutions for clients looking to start or grow trading businesses.

“Brokers will be able to learn about how Together’s flexible criteria and process can support customers with their commercial and semi-commercial needs, and underwriting techniques that can help to review large and complex commercial opportunities,” said Tanya Elmaz (pictured), managing director of intermediaries at Together.

Meanwhile, Together is also restructuring its intermediaries team to take a more active role in early pipeline funding and case referrals. The team will manage the onboarding process for new brokers through the academy, reinforcing the lender’s focus on broker education.

Together’s intermediaries team currently supports brokers across eight products in two markets, handling nearly 5,000 broker calls each month. The team will also see regional and telephony account managers assume wider responsibilities, including assisting with case submissions to speed up completions.

The lender has also restructured its intermediaries senior leadership team. Michelle Walsh will lead the commercial finance division, Maeve Ward will oversee personal finance, Chris Evans will manage the roving underwriting team, and Nick Parker will focus on relationships with networks and clubs.

“These changes are part of a broader strategy to drive growth through the intermediary channel,” Elmaz said. “Our team has been working tirelessly to deliver the service Together is known for; building productive relationships and finding innovative solutions to complex cases.

“Our goal is simple, to make working with us as seamless and efficient as possible. Our broker partners are at the heart of everything we do, and we’re excited to continue working together to help more customers achieve their property ambitions.”
